FUN AT WORK BUILDING AUTHENTIC TEAMS

Out of 10 people at work, only three say they are engaged. Only three say they have a balanced life or balance in their life. If seven aren’t engaged nor balanced, they probably aren’t having fun at and away from work. As fun coaches, recreational programmers, and facilitative trainers for the past 30 years, Todd and Marsha Davis feel there are still too many people who lack awareness of the concept of fun at work. Even though many in the team building industry have been playing their part to make the work environment more efficient and friendly, still too many teams are disengaged and frustrated. This has been an increasing concern as it has made work unwelcoming, difficult, and isolated. Todd and Marsha Davis began to grow concerned about the work their fellow peers were doing, as it wasn’t having enough impact. With the authors’ experiences, Todd and Marsha were able to see some real-life numbers and statistics, which distressed them further because a large number of jobs had an actively discouraging environment. Why are there still so many places in America that have such depressing environments even after all these years of hard work? Is it due to leadership or team members? After years of providing team-building experiences, Todd and Marsha Davis had a revelation one day that set them about and toward writing the book. The real fun at work is the way you communicate as a team. You see, the reason why even in 2020, America has workplaces that aren’t pleasant and friendly is simple. People don’t communicate and solve problems efficiently. The couple’s goal is to assist managers, supervisors, and leaders to be the ones who the team members respect. Todd and Marsha Davis thought if they were to become aware of the benefits of friendlier and positive workplaces, they would want to bring a change. There are many obstacles in the way of an actively engaged work environment. If people were taught how to overcome these challenges, things would improve dramatically. Therefore, the authors have written this book to educate everyone about how important and useful incorporating fun at work can be, so that it no longer has to be a taboo in the workplace. They will also reveal the methods that we use for team engaging and building. The authors believe in the FISH philosophy, which is something we use in our teachings. It is one of the many theories and concepts that will be discussed and expounded on in the book. Furthermore, Todd and Marsha Davis will share the tips and tricks picked up on, throughout their experiences, in detail so that you can become a facilitator, just like themselves. Their goal is to teach you key strategies, from the art of introducing fun at work to building authentic teams that have lasting friendships, and to improve your personal life balance in order to live a better life at work and become a leader who shares their knowledge with others and those in need.
